THE BASICS --{Name}-- Andrew ‘Andy’ Hullsworth --{Alias}-- ‘The Ungrateful Mutt’ by his former colleagues in the military, whilst some parts of Japan have taken to speaking of him as 'the Purple Phantom'. The persona's a bit inflated from the real deal though... --{Age}-- 19, though his birthday should be coming up within a few months --{Gender}-- Male --{Race/Nationality}-- A Britannian Citizen, though who knows if it would ever help his hide in future. --{Occupation/Rank}-- Former member of the Britannian Engineering Corps, currently a fugitive and unintended freedom fighter. Work for hire. |
APPEARANCE & BEHAVIOR --{Physical Description}-- With five feet and eight whole inches to his name, Andy can claim a pretty decent – if not entirely impressive, given the usual Britannian stock – stature for himself. His hair, once cut to fit military regulations for the lower class, has slowly but surely begun to grow out once more, albeit much of it is contained beneath the young man's favourite cap. The soft brown colour of his hair, and that of his eyes, makes him further unremarkable in terms of appearance, compared to some of the outright exotic shades that seems to spring from other Britannian bloodlines. Probably the biggest thing he has over other guys is that he's not quite so outright thin as others are, maintaining a good musculature that is hidden away by his clothes - mostly anyway. He's not exactly a major martial artist or the world's strongest man, so he's in shape, but not outright ripped. What has been ripped, to utter shreds in fact, is his old uniform, prompting a bit of a style change as he's gone into hiding throughout Area 11. The wool cap is one good example of this, taken from a shop on a coastal town, and bearing the little anchor symbol as a result. It also came with the jacket that Andy wears as his standard coat, sleeveless and light, but as it happens, both are actually quite waterproof. The shirt beneath the jacket unfortunately isn't quite so neat, being a simple green T-shirt with a bit of a collar, and a splash of yellow styled after a medallion. Its not actually a medallion though - just part of the shirt shaped that way. The purple gloves he wears are pretty good for gripping purposes, whilst freeing up his forefingers for dexterity reasons - plus as far as he's concerned, they look pretty sweet. Also, very warm in winter. After that, you have his grey, unremarkable trousers, though one might suppose the rather deep pockets to be of interest - they are to Andy at least, given he can fit most of his tools inside them. He keeps them in place with an oversized belt, with the end of it hanging off in front of him at almost any given moment. Finally you have his shoes, which have some good grip, but are starting to get a little worn down. The spare clothes he has after these are pretty minimal, allowing for only a little variety, and mostly just for seasonal variation. I mean, hey, a waterproof jacket is nice, but when the rain pours down, you need a fullblown raincoat. --{Personality}-- Andy is... out of place. He knows this, he's aware of it, and has been for a very, very long time. So in a way, he's almost grown to be comfortable with that fact, not actively despairing over it. At the same time though, his attitude has developed into being something lonesome as a result, if not exactly aggressive about it. If someone wants him to back off, he'll often do so, and he would rather try and get things done on his own rather than burden anyone else with his troubles. Not helped that with some cases, he often leaps to the conclusion that they - such as the Elevens, or anyone closely related to the Britannian military in any fashion - would want nothing to do with him. This is actually harder to work with than it sounds, because it means deliberately making things harder on himself in order to be self-sufficient. That, and well, he can hardly stop himself sometimes. Despite his desire to avoid talking to too many people if he can help it, Andy is a pretty empathetic person - such a trait is what got him in his current mess to begin with. He is easily swayed by the emotional distress of others, assuming he has no reason to distrust or be otherwise set against them, and despite the various inconveniences to himself will set out to help another. This can range from helping some kid get the food on the shelf just out of reach for them, or recklessly charging in with his Sutherland against bad odds because dammit someone needs help. Worse still is that whilst he's far from being book dumb, and quite capable of strategy if given a chance, Andy is impulsive as hell in many situations and will act without giving himself - or others for that matter - a chance to think things through. Overall, this guy can hardly keep himself in check, and lives a rather unstable existence as a result as he tries to balance his morality with practicality - the latter often falling out of favour. But putting aside matters like those, Andy is... well, as said, out of place. Though hardly falling in line with the views of his once colleagues, he's still a Britannian, and influenced by that kind of upbringing. He thinks of the Japanese as Elevens rather than by their own name, and prefers things closer to the tastes of his homeland - with many native customs and ideas seeming quite baffling to him. He'll try to be nice to people when he has to talk to them, but nevertheless can come across as talking down to them depending on the subject matter. Part of this derives from a noted lack of understanding with regards to foreign cultures, which causes him to sometimes give a remark that is far from sensitive, especially if angered by something. But again, a lack of understanding is more the problem than anything else, and if properly educated, his view would likely lighten up quite well. For the love of god though, don't mock his work as an engineer. Even if something is a half assed job or barely functioning by his own admittance, he can get quite prideful over the fact it is still his work. He certainly enjoys it more than his other major skill... |
BATTLEFIELD EVALUATION --{Knightmare Frame}-- Name: Sutherland Model Number: RPI-13 Height: 4.39 metres, or roughly 14.4 feet Weight: Approximately 7480 kilograms Physical Description: The standard issue RPI-13 Sutherland bares some resemblance to its predecessor the Glasgow, though there are clear differences beyond the purple colour scheme, which stands to have the unit be easily identifiable to allies. Various parts have been streamlined, but there is also an increase in armour to compensate for previous exposed points - particularly the shoulder joints. The Sutherland is subsequently a 'broader' design to look at, but is nevertheless quite mobile for its size and stature, aided by the landspinners located on the outside of its feet. Andy's specifically is not quite as impressive as it should be though, worn dorn and with some of the metal clearly having been welded on from other units. Equipment: Yggdrasil Drive and Energy Filler Cockpit Ejection System Factsphere sensor Landspinner Propulsion System Armaments: Standard Issue Assault Rifle Two Standard Issue and In-Built Slash Harkens One - often non-compliant - Arm Mounted Stun Tonfa, Right Arm Notes: It is a testimony to Andy's ability as a master jury rigger that this thing still runs, given how large chunks of the internal mechanics have had to be replaced, either from other units, or using substitutes from cars of all things. The latter tend to not last long though if put under too much stress, which... really isn't helpful in something designed for high speed combat. --{Weapons}-- A small pistol that he manages to keep hidden away. Keeps most of his spare ammo in the cockpit, and only ever carries one extra magazine on hand. --{Equipment}-- Keeps a number of standard tools in his pockets for someone of his former trade - screwdrivers, wrenches, you name it - alongside basic essentials like his wallet. More personal belongings are few in number though, one being his phone, all but useless to him since he can't risk making a phone call on it. It has a whole gallery of family photos on it though, making it the one thing he cherishes most at the moment. --{Special Skills/Abilities}-- Andy's an engineer, specialising in Knightmare Frames specifically, though a lot of it can translate to other work - though don't ask him how the damned engines themselves work. Making repairs with sub-par resources is a particular specialty, though the fact he can achieve them does not necessarily ensure the repairs themselves will last all too long, meaning that part is something of a gamble. As a Knightmare Frame pilot, he's not exactly the greatest out there, but competent enough to have kept himself alive - and certainly better than his Frame's original pilot. Though that might be a relative matter... against a real pro, he might not fare so well. |
PERSONAL INFO --{Family}-- Father: Daniel Hullsworth Mother: Angelina Hullsworth Sister: Rebecca 'Becky' Hullsworth --{Friends}-- Doesn't really have any --{Known Associates}-- Richard Crafton - a noble, and the one Andy stole his mobile suit from. You'll understand if you read on. --{History}-- If one believed every little thing they ever heard, then they might just be inclined to believe that the Purple Phantom was some kind of god amongst men, if they had ever heard of him. Starting out as mere urban legend up in the former prefecture of Akita, tale has spread south of a lone soul that continues the fight against the invaders. Some say it quite literally - that it is a spectre of the dead that simply refuses to pass on - whilst others merely speak of some great violet villain to the Britannian forces. It moves like a grim reaper across the battlefield, felling dozens of enemies with ease. And then it simply disappears into the night, leaving the greatest military on Earth humiliated like a simple child. Who is he? Where does he come from? Is it even a he at all? God dammit Andy hates the rumour mill. [TO BE FILLED IN] --{RP Sample}-- A short sample of writing showing us how you intend to play your character. |
