THE BASICS --{Name}-- Jonathan Seward --{Alias}-- Viscount Vicksburg --{Age}-- 35. --{Gender}-- Male or Female? --{Race/Nationality}-- Britannian --{Occupation/Rank}-- Viscount of Vicksburg |
APPEARANCE & BEHAVIOR --{Physical Description}-- Seward is a tall man standing at 6ft 4in. He is often seen with his collar length brown hair kept neat and orderly due to his status; however, the more remarkable feature is his blue eyes which on a good day seem to be as gentle as the ocean, that said on a bad day, his eyes seem like ice. His skin is lightly tanned due to constant work outside alongside the very help he employs. The man's build is toned yet he is remarkably lean often leading to the perception that he is frail. While his diet is well maintained, his cheeks seem slightly hollowed due to the exhausting nature of his work. Otherwise, his overall appearance is evocative of a man who enjoys himself in spite of the stress he undergoes as evidenced by the gray setting in at his temples. In a formal setting, Seward's posture is precisely what one could expect from a Britannian Noble what with standing tall and holding his head up. His attire during a formal setting is a grey long coat with red cuffs and a red collar, this coat is additionally decorated with epaulets. Beneath his coat lies a charcoal black suit with a red Victorian style tie and a pair of white gloves usually found on his hands or in his coat's breast pocket. However, in a casual setting, Seward actively makes it a point to make himself approachable and as such wears business casual clothes and his posture reflects more of a commoner's. --{Personality}-- Seward is a man who has grown up with an unshakable loyalty to the Holy Britannian Empire. It should be noted that Seward is loyal to his country and actually expresses a severe dislike of the current Emperor. To the shock and awe of the commoners and even to other Numbers, Seward is perfectly willing to mingle with those outside of his class as he has held the firm belief that loyalty is earned not freely given. His demeanor can change though in formal events as he can play the role of a Noble well. He simply does not have much patience or tolerance towards the other Nobles who look upon the commoners and numbers as dirt. Rather, Seward finds that the numbers would eventually take up arms in favor of Britannia if they were to be shown some form of humanity. Those under his employ are permitted to address him by his given name as he holds no real regard for his title other than using it as a means to an end in bettering the lives of his countrymen however he can. Seward's primary love is for Britannia, whether she is right or she is wrong. It is because of this that he has found himself both in agreement and disagreement with His Majesty in the matter of rebels in occupied territories such as Area 11. He believes that while others like the Japanese Liberation Front have noble aims in restoring Japan's independence, he does not approve of the terrorist tactics used and believes that they should instead assimilate into Britannian culture. His contempt for the Number system also extends to the Honorary Britannian classification in that if they prove themselves loyal to the Empire, they should be given full citizenship, as such any Honorary Britannian he has employed is subsequently called a Britannian in his presence. Overall his long term goal is not a radical shift in Britannian policies, he would just instead rather see an end to the ethnic divide in Britannia and her occupied territories. As such, he has attempted numerous times to convince other Nobles to interact with commoners and numbers as equals. Often this is rebuked in favor of the Emperor's Might Makes Right ideology. Still, his message is particularly well received among the commoners and the numbers which keeps him pushing. He knows very well that the majority of the Nobles regard him as something of a black sheep; however, he feels that his method is the best way to change Britannia for the better. This is not to suggest that Seward is unwilling to employ violence. He merely believes that war should be a last resort and that one can catch bees better with honey rather than vinegar. More importantly, Seward lacks a desire for personal vengeance believing that revenge is a sucker's game and instead focuses on learning from his mistakes. He is not above using manipulation to achieve what he needs and knows perfectly well when to cut his losses and find something new. |

He has a unique talent for gambling often employing high risk, high reward scenarios in games like Black Jack or Roulette and even uses this as a mindset on who to employ as a potential ally. Particularly worth noting is his ability to inspire the common class and the numbers to strive to be more as he leads by example. While others find liquor more palatable, Seward has a particularly fondness for tobacco related products and can correctly identify types of tobacco used in cigars and cigarettes, his favorite being those from the Britannian Caribbean Islands. |

Jonathan Seward's family had primarily remained in the Homeland of the Holy Britannian Empire, in particular around the city of Vicksburg. As a child, Seward was raised around a family who proceeded to flaunt their status as Nobility which caused fierce resentment from the commoners and for a time, Seward was unsure of why the workers all looked upon him with such disgust and disdain. The one thing he did remember was what his father had said in that, "Trash envies what they don't have. We have been born into power and as such the trash seeks to claim by force what they do not have by right." Thinking hard on what his father had said, it did not sit well with him because despite the class system, they were still Britannian citizens at the end of the day. Touring Area 8, otherwise known as the Falklands, did not improve Seward's opinion on the Nobility as he had been introduced to further discrimination to those who technically were part of Britannia, yet at the same time they were not. Seward had confided in his father at how he disapproved of this; however, his father merely backhanded him stating that the Numbers system was put there to educate the inferior ones as to were they stood in the food chain. He further explained that the Honorary Britannians were given greater luxury, but no change in their nationality would ever wash away the stink of being inferior. It was the last time he had ever publicly voiced his own beliefs against the Number and Honorary Systems yet privately he was still disgusted and hated what the conquered lands had become. As he grew older and began researching more into Britannian politics, he had begun to notice that the workers around the Viscount Manor had softened in their dislike of him personally. Still, he didn't let this go to his head as he --{RP Sample}-- A short sample of writing showing us how you intend to play your character. |
